MISSION: Newspapers are disappearing. Alternative newspapers are becoming more corporate, and more like the institutions they were founded to check. Technology has yielded a cacophony in place of what has left, which is a double edged sword. This has given rise, among other things, to an impulse to censor. We defy this. This project is an act of faith in the idea that better content is the answer to bad content. We acknowledge a populist progressive bent, but don’t understand us too quickly. We are skeptical of tribalism, speech codes, humorlessness, fake indignation, or searches for heretics. We adhere to these standards without fear or favor, and consider them to be in the best Granite State tradition.
